DESCRIPTION:

The project focuses on studying an optimisation problem arising at the middle-mile stage of a supply chain. The role of the middle-mile logistics is to consolidate the products coming from the suppliers (first-mile logistics) before delivering them to the final customers (last-mile logistics). The middle mile logistics optimization plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth supply chain operations. It encompasses the planning and management of goods movements among the depots or warehouses of a company and their consolidation before last-mile delivery. The project aims at bridging AI and OR for solving such complex problems efficiently.
